As a Planner / Buyer, this will be a great new opportunity to join Edits Media Department. You will be responsible for producing media plans, buying and reporting on campaigns specialising in acquisition strategies.  The Media channels will include, but are not exclusive to, TV, Press, Door Drop, Radio, OOH, Direct Mail and Online. 

This role requires an investigative mind with the ability and desire to develop a comprehensive knowledge of all specialist media; compiling information for the formulation of detailed media proposals and supporting rationale documents.  You will have the aptitude to analyse and interpret campaign results and be able to use them to forecast and shape future campaign performance. 

Supporting the Media Managers and Directors, you will ensure excellent client management and strategic implementation of campaigns and play an integral part in developing and managing both client and partner relationships.

Key responsibilities/accountabilities:

A key role for a Planner/Buyer is to support senior members of the team in preparation for client meetings and presentations, producing all work within the Edit brand guidelines. A Planner/Buyer’s main concern should be to meet both the Edit and clients’ business objectives by producing cost-effective, innovative media plans with a strong focus on results whilst ensuring they are compliant with latest codes of practice. At all times you will be working in an efficient and professional manner, upholding the company values.

As well as having some experience in Media buying and demonstrating an understanding of media partnerships you will have the following:

  • Knowledge of AV (i.e. TV, VOD)
  • Knowledge of industry media planning tools (all media e.g. TGI, BARB, RAJAR, ComScore)
  • Ability to extract and filter relevant insights/research to support planning decisions
  • Excellent communicator
  • Natural curiosity
  • Genuine interest in industry research and new ways of working
  • Media buying experience

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Meet clients’ business objectives by producing cost-effective and innovative media plans
  • Deliver the best available cost deals for all media, with a strong focus on results
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the media marketplace, showing specific knowledge of media products, including segmentation tools
  • Demonstrate examples of negotiation techniques and how/why rates have been achieved – including short-term negotiations
  • Understand how media costs are calculated and negotiate using this knowledge
  • Have a detailed understanding of profiling reports, know how to interpret them, and present these confidently to clients
  • Have a good understanding of clients’ results, forecasting and how to interpret them and use them for planning and negotiations
  • Present conclusive findings to clients
  • Understand the objectives a client is trying to achieve, and how these can be achieved
  • Identify trends and pro-actively develop new opportunities
  • Keep clients regularly informed of new developments
  • Attend and help with the preparation of client meetings and write contact reports
  • Prepare all materials related to campaign execution
  • Develop good supplier relationships
  • Meet internal and client deadlines
  • Assist with internal forecasting
  • Represent Edit at supplier and client social events
  • Be prepared to travel between sites when required
  • Be fully aware and comply with the Company’s IS0 27001 requirements and procedures
  • Be familiar and up to date with latest GDPR and data compliance regulations
  • Other ad hoc duties as and when required

Essential Requirements:

Desirable Requirements:

  • Familiarity with reporting dashboards and analytical software
